Every meal here is paid for by someone like you

Safe Haven has no institutional funding. We rely solely on personal donations to feed, cloth, treat and school the children in our care.

How far your gift goes
$6 One case of milk Milk for the youngest children at the orphanage.
$30 45kg of rice 100 pounds of high-grade, nutritious rice, always needed.
$50 A week of fruit/veggies Enough fresh fruit and vegetables to feed 50 children for a week.
$600 Sponsor a child for a year Tuition, uniform, school materials and transport at the local Thai school.

Beyond food and school, donations cover building repairs, malaria prevention, hospital bills and medical treatment.

Ways to give

Card and PayPal is easiest for most gifts. For larger amounts, a bank transfer sends more of your money to the children.

Fees: PayPal takes 3.4% + $0.30 per transaction, plus about 2.5% on the currency conversion. For gifts over roughly $400, a bank transfer costs us less.

02Bank / wire-transfer Best for large gifts

A wire costs roughly $40 USD in bank charges, so it is worth it above a few hundred dollars.

Thinking of sending things instead?

We are genuinely touched when people want to send parcels, but in our experience the same money does far more good spent here. Three reasons:

  • Postage on larger parces is substantial, often more than the goods are worth here.
  • Clothing, stationery, toiletries and food cost far less bought locally than shipped from the West.
  • Thai customs can hold donated items, and we have had to pay substantial fees to release them, even as a registered charity.

Your understanding and support in these matters are invaluable as we strive to ensure the well-being of the children in our care.
